Band

Lower Forty- Eight

Biografie

San Francisco´s Lower Forty-Eight combine raw energy and complexity to form a wholly new and inventive approach to rock music.

Musically fearless and fed by an intense passion and understanding of composition, structure, and chaos, LFE blends these attributes into an amalgamation of metal, hardcore, and indie-rock. Lower Forty-Eight straddles the line between full-on aggression and melancholic trepidation with highly cerebral and emotive lyrical content.

Hailing from the bands Spackle, LandShark, Model, and The Rail Gun Ensemble, Lower Forty-Eight is never content to rest on laurels, choosing instead to break rules and forge new approaches to the standard rock constructs while not alienating the listener. The results are gratifying and powerful.

The newest album "Skin Failure", on Monotreme Records.is their third release. LFE completed a tour of England and continental Europe in September 2004 with labelmates The Mass (see "Shows" section for dates and locations of upcoming shows).

The group is now completing a new album to be released in fall 2005 while continuing to play locally in the Bay Area.
